NÚRIA GIMBERNAT

Trained as an embryologist, it was not until 2019 that she decided to establish her own studio and dedicate herself exclusively to art, with a particular focus on ceramics. She finds inspiration in the nature that surrounds her: the light of a sunset, limestone forms with rough textures, the natural pigments of a wall... A universe as rich in nuances as it is austere in its beauty.

In 2015, she received the KREAS Grant from Girona City Council to create the work IRIS, which was exhibited at the Centre Cultural La Mercè in October 2016.

Her work has been selected for the Sculpture Award of the Fundació Vila Casas (Palafrugell), the CICA Museu de Ceràmica de l’Alcora (Castellón), the Angelina Alòs Ceramics Biennial in Esplugues, the International Biennial of Aveiro (Portugal), the Concours International de Céramique de Carouge (Switzerland), the XXXI Competition of Contemporary Ceramic Art Mediterraneo in Grottaglie (Italy), among others.

In 2022, she received the PUBLIC AWARD at the 20th Esplugues Ceramics Biennial.

In 2024, she won the TERRACOTTA BIENNIAL CERAMICS AWARD (La Bisbal d’Empordà).
