BUSSOGA - IRINA GROSU I JOSEP MOTAS

Bussoga is the creative project of ceramic artists and designers Irina Grosu and Josep Motas, based in La Bisbal d’Empordà since 2012. Their work revisits the ceramic tradition of the Empordà through a contemporary lens, combining craftsmanship, design and visual experimentation. Using techniques such as screen printing on ceramics, they create wall pieces and artistic objects that play with repetition, colour and the imagery of pop art and surrealism.

Bussoga’s work stands out for transforming everyday elements into surprising compositions filled with visual humour, while maintaining a strong connection to the local area and La Bisbal’s ceramic heritage. Their pieces have been exhibited at venues around the world, including Design Miami, FuoriSalone in Milan and Maison et Objet in Paris, among others. Their work has also featured in projects that champion ceramics as a contemporary artistic language, such as La Peixera at the Terracotta Museu in La Bisbal.
