Erica de Alma Clara (Erica Cristalino, Argentina, 1969) lives and works in Terrassa. Trained as a designer in Argentina, she found in ceramics a form of expression that transformed her approach to work and her understanding of the material. Today, she develops her artistic project Alma Clara, bringing together all these experiences into a deeply personal body of work. In 2025, she presented her work at the Andakulova Gallery in Dubai, expanding her international presence.
Her pieces stem from the use of refractory clay and porcelain fired at high temperatures—a combination that highlights volumetric synthesis and technical control. The white monochromatism shifts the focus toward formal structure, placing her work at the intersection of contemporary figuration and organic abstraction. Through the exploration of organic shapes and the human figure, her work with texture creates contrast and movement within each piece.
She works with various types of clay, which she blends according to the needs of each creation, using oxides to build nuances and surfaces rich in depth. Every piece is the result of an experimental process where matter, texture, and fire play an essential role. In this process, clay ceases to be merely a material and becomes the medium through which her personal and formal search is articulated.
Through Alma Clara, Erica de Alma Clara creates an artistic universe that invites observers to contemplate the beauty of nature, transformation, and the connection between matter and emotion.
